The boom of organic business in the last decade.
We all are aware of the term organic (which means natural) we are familiar with the “organic” concepts like organic farming, organic food, organic products, etc. With the rising consciousness about the side effects of artificial chemical products, most of us have turned towards organic materials. They take time to be produced but are safe in comparison.
The same is for Business. Over the last few years, a new type of system has been eminent and that is “Organic Business”. Organic business growth means making the best use of the available resources of the already existing business and expanding the output and sales successfully. Enhancing the maximum growth from within.
Unlike inorganic business growth, which expands the company with mergers and acquisitions and/or takeovers to maximize the profit. Although the company might gain profit, the sales might decline as the production is not from their organization.
To simplify, an inorganic method would be for e.g A farmer grows vegetables and gives it to the vendor to sell, the vendor might gain profit after selling the vegetables but the product is not of his own, it belongs to the farmer. The productivity belongs to the farmer, hence in an inorganic growth the profit may be gained by the organization but the productivity of the sales does not belong to them.
In an organic organization/business the information is widespread within the organization and it uses the horizontal structure of interaction than vertical; between the manager and direct employees which helps in faster communication and also helps in making better decisions. Organic growth emphasis the core growth of an organization. The organic organization is flexible and adapts well to the changing market situations. The strategies used by the organic business organizations are to develop and launch new products, exporting the existing products directly into international markets, opening new locations, etc. The results and growth are gradual but it is more long term.
As organic business is becoming a new trend, and there are other phenomena that almost collectively go together with it which is ‘Social entrepreneurship’.
Social entrepreneurship is the combination of commerce along with social issues. The organization’s main objective is on the changes and improvements made in the society through the business, blending the profit goal along with the positive return to society. Although profit-making is not the primary aim of the organization. Social entrepreneurship is a combined sense of innovation and social responsibility.
Organic business and social entrepreneurship both make the best use of available resources and develops from within along with generating a positive impact on society. Distinguished examples of these are Google, Apple, Microsoft, Costa coffee, etc; who have an organic and a social entrepreneurship approach and are a huge success.
As we live in an era where deterioration to the earth because of organizational policies and methodologies are increasing, a combination of these two becomes a fresh change.
At Mitti Ke Rang, we started with a COVID-19 community support fundraising, as an emergency response to provide a safety net to families. This will help them survive in the lockdown period. We aim to directly support these families by providing a minimum wage, through transferring the same into their accounts or partner with local NGO, Organisation, Fellow, or a Volunteer and support them with groceries.
