Mitti Ke Rang comes up with some interactive sessions and podcasts with topics that directly or indirectly influence our lifestyle and its effect on the Mother Earth. This time we have highlighted an important issue with the help of our speaker, a sustainability warrior who is redefining fashion in his on way.

Every corner of India is a clear display of increasing population where resources like food, clothes has become a liability for larger sections of people in India. To cover up environmental challenges there is an urgent need to encourage recycling and upcycling. The notion of sustainability or sustainable growth has infiltrated discussions of long-run economic policy in the last few years. It is very hard to be against sustainability. There are many companies in the world which exemplify how a sustainability strategy has implemented that lead to a long term competitive advantage in the global market.

Swapnil Joshi, a young Entrepreneur came with an innovative idea and established the first Indian company named Eco regain that works on recycling and upcycling of old household waste clothes. Eco regain is a non -govt company that accepts old clothes and recycles them with sustainable fashion. Sustainable fashion is a green strategy that manufactures clothes, shoes and many other accessories in a sustainable way causing the least harm to the environment and also without compromising quality and design of the materials.

How recycling and upcycling succour sustainability?

It is very important to explore the purchase intention of any products before buying it and encourage sustainable consumption. Manufacturing of unnecessary textiles releases a lot of greenhouse gases in the environment and also causing pollution of clean water and atmosphere. When all kinds of waste used by the customers such as clothes are dumped into the landfill only a few of them are naturally decomposed and rest are non-biodegradable. Hence recycle and upcycle can reduce the burden on the earth. Sustainable development is the only way to achieve social and economic progress and to conserve Earth’s finite natural resources. The needs of today’s generation are huge yet it is necessary to adopt sustainability to meet the demands of the future generation. There is also an urgent need for innovative technologies and fascinating ideas like Eco regain where companies could grow and provide decent jobs to people without harming nature. Achieving solutions to all environmental problems that we faced today requires long term potential actions for sustainable development. Hence sustainability is one of the novice ways to save our mother Earth.
