Policy and the youth — two sides of a coin, building a brighter & better future
A few days back MKR had an interactive session over zoom with Mr.Rohit Kumar. He is an IITB & Harvard Alumni bringing a lot of inspirations with his grad degree only to the reader society, he starts with how he’s been coping up the lockdown and going down the lane our host will take you through his childhood aspirations and the journey of our guest to becoming a version of their goals.
Mr.Rohit was born and brought up in the city of Chandigarh, raised by a single mother, which he finds the key source to inspiration, found himself with a keen interest in science. Managing to get entry in IIT-Bombay through the JEE-Mains he narrates his journey about how life took him from the field of techies to becoming an expert of public policies. He has a strong belief in the concept of experimenting and exploring to find oneself in life.
Mr.Rohit, talking about his venture of young leaders and active participation, tells how he and his co-founder Ms.Prajakta, bring the idea of increasing the citizen engagement in democracy. He shares the experience of getting the unexpected results of various workshops and studies that show how a lot of youth are interested in democratic participation, but they back down on the contribution basically because of reasons about which he talks in detail. He believes that not all of government and policy are corrupted but instead really a part of the chain to bring the change, he states the obvious again yet an important point that “criticism is easy whereas constructive engagement is harder”.
Mr. Rohit shares the work of his firm about giving ideas to people and the exposure about how they can increase their participation and solutions for democracy and the policies it has to offer. His firm covers all the psychological aspects of a person in terms of pursuing their studies, taking the workshops to high school and colleges he believes the real change can come from there.

At Mitti Ke Rang, we started with a COVID-19 community support fundraising, as an emergency response to provide a safety net to families. This will help them survive in the lockdown period.
