Mindfulness and Happiness

Mitti Ke Rang always comes up with some interactive sessions and podcasts with topics that directly or indirectly impact our day-to-day lives. In this session, hosted by Khushi Tiwari we had a conversation with Shikha Verma who has more than 17 years of experience as HR in MNCs. She is certified happiness and mindfulness coach and a very passionate story-teller and moderator.

The podcast starts with the discussion regarding the work-life of Shikha Verma, who calls herself ‘Dora, the explorer’ as she loves to venture into unknown territories owing to the adequate use of the pandemic time. She has been able to make several new connections for her passions of freelancing and becoming an advisor. In the next part, she talks about her transition from being an HR in MNCs for many years to evolving as a happiness and mindfulness coach. She could see herself bringing value to people’s lives for which she completely escaped from the barriers of corporate life and started being an advisor. Also, being self-boss is what she dreams of. She also adds the fact that how practicing Buddhism has empowered her in every possible way to see life and how one can design oneself. She totally talks about believing the fact that through constant efforts, there is nothing that we cannot be achieved in life out of the experience more than the philosophy.

The conversation brings out the obstacles faced by the common people to bring peace in their own minds by subsiding the stress and problems of this lockdown period. She talks about this tendency developed and few steps to develop a different attitude by securing a list of priorities and making a balance in their lives. She also narrates a beautiful story showcasing the importance of mental health and advice from mentors all over the world.
