It basically helps the interning candidate to use their theoretical knowledge in the practical world. It gives them an idea about the ins and outs of that job position.

Internship helps in both personal as well as professional development. On the personal front, it helps in the development of certain skills which are very essential if you want to thrive and grow in the business environment. It helps in understanding the importance of leadership as well as teamwork. It helps in the development of soft skills and improves the critical thinking ability of the interns. Apart from this most of the organization also helps in experiencing real-life working situations and coping up with work stress. Speaking about professional development, internships are a great way of building networks. In today's dog-eat-dog world, having connections with prominent people has become essential. It opens doors for new opportunities. But one shouldn’t forget that in the end, everything comes to skills, IQ and EQ. Networking just helps in driving such skill-oriented persons to a useful organization.

In today's digital world, searching for internships has become very easy. LinkedIn is considered to be the go-to app for finding jobs and internships too. It is an easy way of connecting recruiters and applicants. There are other sites like Internshala, LetsIntern, Glassware that provides similar opportunities for the interns. Also, in campus placements are a common way used by organizations for recruiting a large number of students from a single place. This provides two-way benefit both to the student and organization. Students get a first-hand experience of what it feels like to work in a company and at the same time acquire new skills. On the other hand, organizations are able to cut down on their work costs and get a chance to interact with new and innovative minds that can help them to grow in the future.

Internships are a good way to present our resume in a better light. It also gives the candidate an idea of what he likes and what he doesn’t. This helps him in choosing the job that will fit him the most. Internships can be paid as well as unpaid depending upon the organization and their rules. When interns are paid according to their performances, it helps to get the work done in the best possible way. It builds a sense of commitment and dedication towards the work. However, there are organizations that provide valuable experience and contacts to young workers, while lowering costs and risks to organizations by providing unpaid internships. And it completely depends upon the applicant on what he wants to choose from.
