Instagram is changing, and it seems like its harder than ever to grow your business on Instagram organically. You may experience a drastic drop in engagement which can be extremely frustrating. BUT it is possible to grow an audience and business using some of the strategies which not many of us know.

Choosing your niche is up to you and also to figure out what your customers want to see. Observe other accounts in your niche and you’ll start getting an idea of the themes or styles that resonate. As soon as you understand the things that work, populate your account with photos, quotes, and stories that tie into your business. A great method to figure out what your customers are looking for is by referring to what your competition is posting. If you’re way ahead of the game, then look to popular blogs and websites in your space. This will help you out in bringing in the desired initial engagement. Never forget, Engagement is the key.

Create a post about something related to your organization but also conveys a universal agreement. People might like the idea and share it in their stories which will increase organic reach and likely result in engagement gain. The motive here is to make sure that you’re up to the mark with both, great design and value. Needless to say that“A picture is worth a thousand words, so make sure you’re saying the right ones!”

You can make use of the bio section in your profile by using a strong “call to action” that directs viewers to your sales page or the website section which is provided under profile info.

People might comment about how they’re impressed and how much they like things about your niche/organization, don’t let that go to waste. Instagram provides a ‘Pin’ feature for comments so you can keep some relevant and commendable comments on top. This way, it’ll be easier to attract other people who just give a glance at a few top comments.

Instagram provides free Insights feature which will show you the times when your followers are most active. Make proper use of it to fix your daily count of the post and when to post. Be consistent with your posts, because being consistent with the times and counts lets your followers know when is your next announcement coming up.

Find relevant hashtags according to your niche from the internet. Using hashtags is one of the major ways to expand your Instagram audience. When someone uses a hashtag, their post appears on the respective hashtag page. If the hashtag is used in a story, it might get included in the respective hashtag story, which also appears on the top of the hashtag page. People can also choose to follow hashtags, which means they could see your hashtagged post in their feed even if they don’t follow you. Choose hashtags according to your number of followers because if you use very famous/heavy hashtags but your follower’s count is nowhere compared to the number of posts with that hashtag, it might reach out to very few people.

It’s not always a numbers game as with any social network, the most successful strategy overall is to be authentic and social. If you focus on engagement, not just followers, Instagram can be a great home for boosting up the popularity of your organization.

At Mitti Ke Rang, we started with a COVID-19 community support fundraising, as an emergency response to provide a safety net to families. This will help them survive in the lockdown period. We aim to directly support these families by providing a minimum wage, through transferring the same into their accounts or partner with local NGO, Organisation, Fellow, or a Volunteer, and support them with groceries.
