Just about a week to go, and there arrives one of the biggest festivals that nearly 1 billion Indians celebrate, Diwali, the festival of lights. Every year, this month exhilarates cities with a festive spirit all around. Most people look forward to this quarter as it brings excitement, and enthusiasm. However, this year, the coronavirus pandemic seems to have subdued the entire energy. To ensure public safety and overcome the current situation, there are restrictions on social gatherings. Festivals like Durga Pooja, Dussehra, and Diwali are around the corner, and people have started figuring out ways to plan safe celebrations.

During this pandemic, it is essential to pay extra attention to social distancing and hygiene protocols. We should maintain social distancing while visiting the events. Maintaining spatial boundaries and preparing a detailed site plan that complies with thermal screening is integral to everyone’s safety. Wearing a mask and sanitizing it from time to time is a must. Events need to be planned in a way that crowds are regulated, especially on auspicious days that tend to attract the maximum population.

We can go digital this year. This festive season, try and adjust to the new normal. Find innovative ways to send greetings and gifts to your loved ones. One can plan for digital surprises like LIVE music night on a video call, personal radio show, celebrity wishes, etc. to make the celebration more memorable for your guests.

Plan an indoor dinner. Cook your favorite meal and dine with your loved ones. Having home-cooked food is the most suitable option during such a pandemic situation and adds a traditional feel of the festival to your celebrations. Consider DIY decorations, unleash all your creativity. Get DIY kits and make your party planning hassle-free.

One of the sources says that winter could worsen the situation. So just keep that in mind. Enjoy the festive season but stay cautious!
