1. CREA
CREA enables women to understand and communicate their human rights and live lives free from violence, discrimination, inequality, and stigma. It works to advance the rights of single women, heterosexual women, sex workers, lesbians, transgender, disabled women, young women, married women, HIV positive women, and many more at regional, national, and international levels. CREA is a feminist human rights organization founded in the year 2000 that strengthens women to learn, question, challenge, and advocate for positive social change. It envisions a peaceful world, where everyone lives with dignity, respect, and equality.
2. MAKAAM
MAKAAM is a national informal platform working to secure women farmers' identity and rights in India. They address the status of women farmers in farm suicide families and various issues that women farmers are content with. MAKAAM provides support and empowerment to farm suicide affected families for the women to continue with their lives, livelihood, and familial responsivities. By becoming self-reliant.
3. SHIKSHAN ANE SAMAJ KALYAN KENDRA
Shikshan Ane Samaj Kalyan Kendra (SSKK) was started in 1980. They work towards establishing a sustainable life for women and children. They aim at solving issues related to domestic violence and crime against women. SSKK also helps women build self-help groups to establish a sustainable livelihood. They have carved a niche for themselves by supporting and redefining the status of women and helping them become self-reliant, self-dependent, and lead a life of self-respect.
4. INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR CRIME PREVENTION AND VICTIM CARE
The International Foundation for Crime Prevention and Victim Care (PCVC) is a non-profit organization that was set up in 2001 in response to a need for a support agency for victims and survivors of domestic abuse. Their services include crisis management, legal advocacy, support, and resource services. PCVC is helping and working with women by providing them shelter as well as helping to rehabilitate them with the support of a team of social workers, psychologists, and welfare officers.
5. SAKHYA WOMEN’S GUIDANCE CELL
Sakhya believes in making this world a better space for men and women irrespective of their gender or cultural background by helping them have a voice within their household or community and strive to shift the perceptions that promote gender discrimination through various interventions. Apart from being involved on a macro level towards women empowerment and social work, Sakhya takes pride in also being involved on a micro-level with victims of household and domestic abuse.
6. SEWA
The Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) was established in 1972 by Ela Bhatt in Gujarat. It is the single largest Women’s Organisation in India that has built a supply chain of artisans, SEWA trade facilitation Centre company owned and managed by 50,000 women artisans. They aim at strengthening women by providing them with adequate training and skills to work in various informal sectors. There are 1.9 million SEWA Members across the globe including countries like Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
7. AZAD FOUNDATION
AZAD Foundation is a feminist foundation with a vision to shape the world where all women are able to access livelihoods with dignity, generate wealth and value and to create a sustainable and more equal world for all. The foundation has been able to support more than 2000 crore women to gain employability for decent work. Their project “Women on Wheel” has empowered urban women to become professional drivers making transportation safer for women in India.
8. NORTHEAST NETWORK
North East Network (NEN) empowers communities and build skills of grassroots women leaders to generate awareness on violence against women; its causes and consequences. They provide counseling in the districts to address the issue and spread awareness of the Domestic Violence Act and other legal remedies. The barefoot counselors help build a network with appropriate government authorities and the agencies which put policy measures in place to address the abuse and discrimination faced by women. They also engage women in livelihood initiatives based on their skills and strengths.
9. SNEHALAYA
Snehalaya founded in 1989 by Dr. Girish Kulkarni with a mission to eradicate inequality, cruelty, and discrimination towards women, children, and LGBT communities. It provides education to children of sex workers and palliative care for people affected by HIV/AIDS. Their programs are primarily for women and children affected by poverty and the commercial sex industry. They rescue and rehabilitate trafficked and force sex workers providing a safe haven, free counseling, legal aid, vocational training, and alternative work.
10. SWANITI
Swati works with members of Parliaments on constituency and state-level development work by picking particularly progressive MPs and topics that need to be addressed and help catalyze changes in communities. They analyze government data, understand local challenges, and deliver development solutions to elected officials by leveraging government resources. Swaniti aims at providing improved access to healthcare for daily wage workers, access to fresh water, after school programs for students, and self-help groups for women in rural areas.
11. SAFETY
Founded by the award-winning gender equality activist Dr. Shruti Kapoor, Safety has made waves in ensuring girls and women are equipped with the right tools and mindset to advocate for their own safety. The horrific rape of Jyoti Singh in 2012 received international responses of disgust and is what prompted Dr. Kapoor to initiate action within India by forming Safety. Its mission is to educate and empower women & girls against all forms of violence through education and multiple self-defense workshops and campaigns provide a platform and safe space to women and girls for open conversation against gender-based violence. Safety is all about bringing confidence to women and girls to protect themselves in the unfortunate and deplorable situation in which they encounter perpetrators.
12. VIMOCHANA
Vimochana is a Bangalore-based NGO founded in 1979. It provides legal, emotional, and other help to women who are victims of domestic violence, marital violence, dowry torture, sexual harassment, and rape of women, murder, and other forms of abuse towards any gender, especially women. They try to facilitate justice through the police stations and courts if required and provide them with the provision of shelter, counsel, legal, social and moral support.
13. GURIA
Guria is a non-profit organization that is both dedicated to fighting child prostitution, second-generation prostitution, and sex trafficking in Northern India, and to achieving freedom worldwide. The NGO helps women get legal justice, provide counseling, and financial support. Guria not only strives to rescue victims but also strive to fight the organized prostitution racket.
14. ActionAid INDIA
ActionAid India is a social organization, working in India since 1972 with a mission to end poverty, patriarchy, and injustice so that every person enjoys the right to life with dignity. It is an agency that is trying to fight poverty. ActionAid has a very strong and clear strategy with women amongst the underprivileged sector. It stands up for women and children from the most marginalized society and aims at building wider solidarities for the benefit of the most vulnerable.
15. MITTI KE RANG
Mitti Ke Rang is a social venture committed to empowering women, widows, and single women to become independent and self-reliant by acquiring skills through education and training programs to help them lead a dignified life. MKR started in 2014 as a social venture, currently working in 11 countries across the globe, rebuilding the lives of underprivileged women and their children by providing a portal to empower, educate, and rehabilitate them. They organize various skill-based workshops and projects to make women aware of their rights and benefits. At present, MKR is dedicated to raising funds to help migrant workers affected in the pandemic by directly transferring money to their accounts.

At Mitti Ke Rang, we started with a COVID-19 community support fundraising, as an emergency response to provide a safety net to families. This will help them survive in the lockdown period. We aim to directly support these families by providing a minimum wage, through transferring the same into their accounts or partner with local NGO, Organisation, Fellow, or a Volunteer and support them with groceries.
